Java Message Service - JMS

MQJExplorer provides an alternate capability to the MQSeries JMS supplied JMSAdmin tool.  JMSAdmin is provided to create managed objects in a JNDI managed name space such as LDAP, file system and more.

Unlike JMSAdmin, MQJExplorer provides a graphical interface with entry assist for the task of creating managed objects.

To use MQJExplorer, an initial JNDI based namespace must be selected.  On the JMS folder in the left of the MQJExplorer window, right click and select Select JNDI Namespace

The following dialog will be presented.

In the dialog, the JNDI namespace may be selected.  File System and LDAP are pre-configured but the class name of a JNDI Connection Factory may be entered in the Other input area.

The Provider URL is the location in the selected namespace in which JMS managed objects will be created, modified or deleted.

Once entered, a new JNDI namespace will be added to the JMS tree (shown as a home icon).  By right-clicking on this entry, a popup will appear to allow the creation of the JMS managed objects.  These include:

By clicking the JNDI namespace itself, the panel on the right changes to the list of currently defined managed objects.  These will be dynamically updates as MQJExplorer is used to add, modify or delete objects.

To modify the properties of an existing object, simply select the object and right-click and select Properties...

To delete an object, select the object and right-click and select Delete

The following image illustrates a JMS namespace called file:/tmp which contains one of each type of managed object.
